At PSI, we recognize the need to deliver a quality product with impeccable service while protecting our environment. Therefore, we are constantly striving to improve through employee empowerment, better internal controls, process improvements, eliminating waste, and technological advances.
Employee Empowerment:
Our number one asset is our employees. As owners, our employees have a vested interest to produce a quality product. They understand that retaining customer satisfaction and improving financial results directly affects them.
Internal Controls:
Internal controls are vital to achieve consistent results so that product received tomorrow will be the same as today. We color match and mix our own stain blends. We work with our customers to develop mutually agreed upon color standards. Our operators complete in-process inspections for each job. These records are filed with each customer’s order. All key pieces of equipment are routinely scheduled for maintenance checks to minimize unscheduled breakdowns or poor performance. To ensure compliance, weekly quality audits are randomly performed. Audit results are posted and tracked.
Process Improvements:
At PSI, by adopting Lean Manufacturing principles, we are able to provide our employees tools to continuously improve by using visual management techniques, identifying shop floor locations for production, aisle, and safety zones, etc.
Eliminating Waste:
Throughout the value stream, eliminating waste is constantly evaluated. Wastes could be excess inventory, over-processing, over-producing, too much travel to get the parts, etc.
Technological Advances:
PSI dedicates time and money to stay abreast of the latest technologies by attending trade shows, testing coatings, evaluating equipment, etc. PSI also keeps abreast of the trends in the marketplace to ensure our product offerings are in synch with our customers.
